Hi, Ive been trying to compile packages for my own trinux box but not with much success. :/ The first package Im trying to create is screen (ie run stuff from the box without having to be logged in). Ive gotten screen 3.09.13 to compile and it works "ok" (seems to only be able to run as root, but since Im the only user on my trinux box, thats no big deal). Has anyone gotten any of the newer versions of screen to compile and work with trinux? I think adding screen as a downloadable package to trinux would be a good idea. :) (If someone wanted my copy of screen, I could provide it, but Im guessing 3.09.13 probably has bugs and exploits and what not) Another package Ive tried to compile is BitchX (an irc client. yeah, Im hooked on irc, sue me. :) Ive gotten the latest BitchX to compile, but only as a statically linked binary, which of course leads to a 4 meg binary. I run trinux purely from ram (64 mb, ~32 for fs, ~32 for memory), so a 4mb binary takes up a lot of space. :) I figured this one would probably be harded to get to work on trinux, as it requires more libs and what not. Maybe not an important package for Trinux, but if not BitchX, then maybe another irc client (epic?). Im also looking for a really simple smtp server. One that would listen on port 25 and act as smtp relay for my lan. It wouldn't have to handle incoming smtp requests (it would actually be firewalled, and only allow connections from my lan, to prevent outsiders from using it to spam). Does anyone know of such a program? My isp's smtp server aint the best. This one aint too important, but I thought I would ask. :) Thanks for any help. M. |
