I'm looking at using trinux for a cd based firewall solution and so far, it looks perfect. It even has iptables ;o) The only unresolved problem thus far is that I keep getting a message "No space left on device." when trying to add packages or create new files under /. It also occurs during boot. df -h shows a 4 MB / partition which is full, a 15.6 MB /usr which is virtually empty as well as a 7.8 MB /usr/local and 1.9 MB /var which are also empty. Any idea why the system doesn't seem to be using /usr and /usr/local or why the root partition is full? I took a look at the linuxrc script and didn't seem any obvious reasons why it's behaving strangly, but I've only been messing with trinux a few hours. Also, it seems useful to allow redirecting most of the filesystem back to the cdrom to save on ramdisk size although this would certainly have to be an option. The current behavior is very nice 'cause I can use another CD on the system, but for my firewall needs, I'm just going to stick a CD in the machine, reboot it and forget it exists... If this seems interesting, let me know where I can start poking around to make the changes and I'll take a stab at it over the next month. I'm not subscribe to the mailing list as the noise ratio looks *really* high and I don't see any recent activity so please respond directly. Thanks for any suggestions, Greg Fortune |
