A couple of questions? - What type of filesystem are you saving the tar to? If it is ext2 (linux) then you are probably running into the 2GB file limit. I generally use reiserfs and it is supported in trinux. The kernel module is available in the linux-fs.tgz package and the tools to create the fs are in the reiserfs.tgz package - Which tar are you using. By default trinux uses the busybox tar--which might have some limitations, not sure. The full GNU tar is in the fileutil.tgz package. - mdf > I'm trying to use Trinux to save some archives (to > tell the truth, a lot of them) in Windows98SE machines > as a backup tool.
