Hello everybody, I'm trying to use Trinux to save some archives (to tell the truth, a lot of them) in Windows98SE machines as a backup tool. Until today, it just work perfectly, even better than other small distribuitions that were made to deal with these matters. I've tried to create a tar file with a really HUGE amount of files to a total of 4.5Gbs. Yes, I know I've got hard on this. In my tests, the tar used in Trinux has a limit of working with a amount equal to 2Gb maximum. I was asking myself is there is no way to workaround this problem if tar could use the compact option in newer versions of tar (the z option). The Windows98SE workstations are AMD XP 1.6Ghz with 256Mb of memory. Any help or idea would be very good. Thanks everybody, ===== Alceu Rodrigues de Freitas Junior -------------------------------------- gla...@ya... http://www.imortais.cjb.net -- Hell is empty and all the devils are here. -- Wm.
