Try: ping 192.168.232.60 You should be able to ping your own interface, if not, then check your config. ping 192.168.232.54 If this fails, try a different cable and card, unless you have tested them with another OS, and they test OK. You did not mention which NIC card you have, or which driver got setup. It could be wrong, faulty, or not compatible. Check your routes too... you might need to manually add a route Check ifconfig to see if your interface is recording any ingress or egress packets. Check the link lights on the nic cards and the hub.
