Using a vanilla 0.80rc2-ide boot floppy configured for static IP: eth0 set to 192.168.232.60 255.255.255.0 gateway set to 192.168.232.54 dns set to point to internet dns server The gateway machine is a Linux box set up as a router running MASQ in ipchains, so all internet traffic from the LAN (including the Trinux machine) should get routed through the Linux box Additional packages on second floppy contain pcmcia support and this is started manually by running /etc/tux/pcmcia. This works fine, since ifconfig shows eth0 up and running. The only snag is - the Trinux box cannot ping any other machines on the LAN, and other machines on the LAN can't ping the Trinux box. ??? So, although eth0 is up and running, ??? ??? no traffic gets routed. Why is this ??? Thanks for any help to eliminate the problem - and my confusion. Sean se...@at... |
