[Trinux-talk] (no subject)

ok i do have my NICS connected via a cat5 cable and i've got no wierdness in 
the ifconfig or dmesg commands... i've got redhat /etc/hosts file
127.0.0.1    localhost
10.10.10.10  redhat
10.10.10.1   trinux

then i've got trinux ignoring dhcp and manually put in
ip: 10.10.10.1
netmask: 255.0.0.0

i'm using a realtek NIC for trinux and a 3com PCI NIC for the redhat
and i'm still getting the same error? i'm not connecting to anything else no 
routers , hubs , etc... just one computer to another and when i ping either 
of the ip's i get
DESTINATION HOST UNREACHABLE????
