Hi Franz... Dont know if you remember, but I was very interested in the architecture of TriNux years ago, mabye 1998 as the basis of a product called the ThinMan. Well a whole new-economy has come and gone, leaving me unemployed. Now I manage a group called The Linux Society in NYC. We have classes and operations workshops in the New Yorker Hotel. Right now our groupware is http://groups.yahoo.com/group/thelinuxsocietys I'm back in the mini-linux business, promoting the Devil-Linux project. Its very cool, but lacks people-power. I have not had too much success creating my own version of Devil-Linux which we want to create as cd boot desktop thin linux called the "Linux Society Distro" I am curious where TriNux is these days. I cant find documentation and I am wondering what the IDE package is. We have yet to test the efficiency of of the CD boot w/ HD swap as a desktop, but my feeling is that it might just work. Upside is that any box becomes a Linux Node on reboot w/o impacting the underlying OS in any way, except that we carve out some swap, possibly in a VFAT. FreesWan is a nice comcept and would tie together our nodes, but doesnt work thru a NAT gateway. So that leaves SSH tied together w/ BASH or KSH. My initial impulse is to gather people from Smalllinux, TinyX, Tom's ... and all the rest to create a SYSLINUX boot system buildable w/ a script (or make) which would have a plethroa of bells and whistles. Linux routing, peer to peer communications, Desktop apps, DB connectivity.. could be built into the ISO, not to mention the agressive network security mission you embraced.
