Running debian sid, with the nvidia patch to the kernel.

Compile goes through without errors. TranscendApp runs
with no error output. However running the game I get
sound, the game seems to react to cursor input (sounds
occur when pressing space or if holding down the cursor
keys for a while) but there's no graphical output. All
I get is a small window, no contents, just black.

Do other OpenGL-based games/apps work on on your system?

Transcend is using OpenGL in a rather standard way.

Ditto :^( I'm using Debian Etch (testing) with an
    accel'd 3D video card and XFree86.

Same here: I compiled with standard GNU/Linux x86 on my Ubuntu (Hoary)
Linux and when I start TranscendApp, a small Window appears and just
shows black. The only key-reaction I get is for 'q' (quit) and the SPACE bar (a
    soft bell-sound is played). ... ?
