Howdy I'm finding that there's a dependency on facter version 1.6.13, later versions are missing. Installing using the following works apt-get -y install rubygems gem install facter --version 1.6.13 gem install tpkg But I'd suggest specifying the facter version in tpkg & it's dependency file. Thanks Patrick |

Cool. Release can be found at: https://github.com/tpkg/client/downloads Obviously a lot of the release process changed, let me know if anyone sees something that could be improved. FYI, the release process documentation is now at http://tpkg.github.com/develop/release.html Jason On Aug 31, 2012, at 10:35 AM, "Patrick o'leary" <pj...@pj...> wrote: > Fantastic, thanks Jason > FYI we've just started doing production deployments on cygwin & ubuntu :-) |

Howdy There's a bug in how tpkg generates package names for apt-get in ubuntu Currently it's doing apt-get -y install package-version-package_revision There should be an = instead of a - between package & version as in apt-get -y install package*=*version-package_revision Patch included in ticket #50 https://sourceforge.net/apps/trac/tpkg/ticket/50 Thanks Patrick |

Howdy Was just setting up a full cycle CI -> tpkg -> install on integration And would like to throw out a couple of features or get some feedback from users 1) Reporting server to extract packages upon upload - Seems broken to have a 2 step process, cron just leaves you with a delay. 2) tpkg client to have a --no-reporting flag - if you install in a qa or integration host you don't necessarily want the tpkg on a reporting server until it's cleared - tpkg currently reports back the package and the reporting server creates it even if it doesn't exist. - reporting server could be fixed to only create packages from uploads, but client should also support --no-reporting - ghost packages break client reporting 3) tpkg deletion on reporting server - Stuff get's built up quickly, so having a delete button or check boxes helps - might lead to jenkins style of delete after x number of packages. I've also got documentation I want to contribute on setting up the full CI, including running tpkg through passenger which would make folks lives easier if they are non-ruby people. Let me know what you think? I'd also be interested in coming up with some sort of way to give packages a status flag of QA Cleared, In Prod in the future. Thanks Patrick |

I got a notification from Sourceforge that they are planning to retire their hosted apps service, which includes the trac instance that we use for the tpkg wiki and tickets. Apparently SF is working on a process to allow us to set up an instance of trac in the tpkg project's web space. Or we could just give up on SF and move the whole project to github.
