Dear Ewan, The messages are indeed confusing. The QSARs are only applicable to specific classes (aromatic amines and alpha,beta unsaturated aldehydes), hence the QSAR related entries for ethanol should be ignored. Unlikely to be a S. typhimurium TA100 mutagen based on QSAR =YES is not the proper answer, as it assumes the QSAR was launched and the outcome was YES. This is not the case. I'll be checking with ISS (the rules authors) how to improve these messages.
