Hello towhee-users, After years of on-and-off work on the problem, I have finally completely removed the common blocks from the Towhee package. To give you an idea of the scale of that effort, the new data structures that replace the common blocks are over 17,000 lines of globaldata.F. The main positive effects of this on the users are two-fold 1) This should allow the developers to work in the code more quickly and enable outside developers to swipe portions of Towhee with less effort. 2) I won't be spending months of time moving the stupid data structures around in the code and hopefully will have more time for something useful like implementing new algorithms or speeding up existing routines. On the negative side, poking that many lines of code means I could have broken something somewhere. Test suite is still fine so nothing major, but if you do see something strange please submit it to towhee-bugs. Also added the volume squared to the averaging. Marcus -- Marcus G.
