V. 0.20 installed first from .deb files, and after it
didn't work, they were removed and I installed the
tar.gz. version, and the error is the same.
Output window in the "Encode" section:
The following commands will be run:
=========================================
makemenu -ntsc -dvd -align left -textcolor
"rgb(255,255,255)" -highlightcolor "rgb(255,255,0)"
-selectcolor "rgb(255,0,0)" -font "*" "Free Software
Song video.mpg" "/tmp/Untitled_menu_1"
------------------------
tovid -overwrite -ntsc -dvd -full -vbitrate 7000
-abitrate 224 -in
"/home/media/movies-d/Free_Software_Song_video.mpg"
-out "/tmp/Free Software Song video.mpg.tovid_encoded"
------------------------
makexml -dvd -overwrite -menu
"/tmp/Untitled_menu_1.mpg" "/tmp/Free Software Song
video.mpg.tovid_encoded.mpg" "/tmp/Untitled_disc"
------------------------
/end of output
The error in the window is "unrecognized command-line
option". The bug window pops, and after pressing OK,
the program hangs. It happens with default options.
There were no errors in the .configure stage, or
unresolved dependencies during the .deb install.

Tried the command-line program: tovid-interactive. The
problem seems to be that this program uses the options
"-infile" and "-outfile" instead of "-in" and"-out"
Here's the command-line that was created:
tovid -dvd -pal -full -infile
"/home/media/movies-d/Free_Software_Song_video.mpg" -outfile
"free-software-song"
And here's the error:
Error: Unrecognized command-line option -infile
Running the command manually with the right options fixed it.
Will a fix be available in the next version?
