I know about the issue with Cygwin, so I'm careful to test from cmd.exe only. "plink.exe -l abayley cvs-ssh" behaves as I expect/desire. My CVSROOT is: :ext:cvs-ssh:/cvsroot/haskell-libs Ahhhh!! Got it: I haven't specified a username. When I do my CVSROOT becomes: :ext:abayley@cvs-ssh:/cvsroot/haskell-libs and now it works. <relief/> Thanks for your help.
