Hello Scott,

  No, the project is pretty much dead.  There's nothing close to
middleware yet, just a few contrib scripts and some snippets of config,
and an early start to a web-based backend interface.  There is
occasional interest in the project, and I think it could maintain and
grow a user community if someone were driving it, but right now that's
not happening.
