Based on the look of that document, I'm fine with proceeding with this unless anyone has any objections to the current form of the document. Let's see what Michael says on debian, but I believe the current diagram with it at top level will be fine. One addition I'd like to see - some directory structure for add-on gunk like the icons, menu files, etc. - not stuff that's part of the build, but the add-on things that get installed to make it fit into modern distros. For example the menu file in rpm/ and debian/. Should those really be separate and specific to the packaging system?
