Hello, Version: Tora 2.1.1 and latest svn trunk too OS: Linux, amd64 debian testing, KDE window manager Oracle client: 11G After connecting to an Oracle server, Tora refresh something in every 5 seconds, causing the mouse cursor to become "busy-shaped" for about half a second. The refresh option in preferences is disabled, the firewall-mode too, still it's doing this. I went through all options and tried to disable things, but with no success. This cursor shape change is very annoying as it happens everywhere, in menus, in every tool, etc. Earlier Tora versions did not do this. I reach the Oracle via VPN, the server is several thousand miles away. I've tried tcpdump to see what exactly it talks with Oracle, but of course I cannot decode it (about 10 small tcp packets are sent exactly in every 5 seconds). Maybe it's a heartbeat thing, but as the server is far, the whole communication takes about 600 msec (I've seen this with tcpdump). That may trigger the cursor-busy shape change? Can Tora be changed so that the mouse cursor changes shape only when the busy task takes longer than 1 second? It would solve my problem, as Tora remains responsive during that 600msec, so it's totally usable. Thanks, Peter L. |
