KDE3 support, improved waitstate analyzer, tempfiles in storage manager, open cursor caching, improved MySQL support, improved indentation, improved explain plan, scrolling in charts, track charts to files, alarms on chart values, new backup manager tool, better KDE installation, very preliminary support for PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL and ODBC. Changed packaging with Oracle & MySQL in separate rpm:s if posible. The main new feature in this release is the preliminary support for the QSql API of Qt 3.0.1. Currently the only thing supported by these is using the worksheet, but it's a start. This support is for Qt above 3.0 though so the normal KDE binaries does not have PostgreSQL support since these are based on Qt 2.3. Another really cool new feature is that when you explain plans in the SGA they will be explained from the context of the user who parsed them, not the user you connect as right now. You can now also use explain plan PL/SQL blocks and get plans for the DML statements found inside them. Also charts have seen large improvements in this release adding such features as tracking to files, scrollbars and ability to hold a longer history than is displayed by default. You can also set alarms on chart values to get basic monitoring functionality from TOra. Currently the alarm can only pop up a dialog with the warning but in the future email notification will probably be added. /Mauritz GlobeCom AB |
