Version: Mars.2 Release (4.5.2)
Build id: 20160218-0600
I used sysdeo so far and all was fine.
today, eclipse suggested an upgrade of the tomcat management feature.
Then the tomcat button had disappeared.
I realized that your plugin needed to be fully installed as well.
But still no button nor anything in the preferences menu
You had the "old" Sysdeo version installed and eclipse suggested to upgrade the tomcat management feature? You did not remove the older version before installing the version from the update site of this project?
Might be worth a try to remove the old plugin first before installing a newer version via update site. Could you please try this?
I could reproduce the issue in my local eclipse and co-workers also were able to do so.
Could you please test with the newer version contained in the attached update site archive?
Attachment for previous comment.
Fixed in v3.3.6
Version: Mars.2 Release (4.5.2)
Build id: 20160218-0600
Windows 8.1
Issue not fixed for me. Still no Buttons, no preferences menu.
Could you please check installed feature version via Help -> Installation Details?
I just reinstalled version 3.3.6 from Eclipse Marketplace and have all buttons and preference pages. IIRC the marketplace still had 3.3.5 today. I updated the version information there.
Just did a fresh installation of version 3.3.6 again, still no buttons and no preferences page.
Same here, did a fresh installation with an Oomph prodcut setup (Eclipse IDE for Java + this Tomcat plugin).
Log File
Not sure if this is relevant but I found this in the log file:
!ENTRY org.eclipse.equinox.p2.publisher.eclipse 4 0 2016-04-14 16:16:42.723
!MESSAGE Unable to acquire PluginConverter service during generation for: D:\GusEntwicklungsTools\eclipse-jee-mars-2-win32-x86_64\eclipse\plugins\net.sf.eclipse.tomcat.feature_3.3.6.jar.
We found the root cause. During the signing process the signing ant-task somehow broke the plugin manifests. This leads to eclipse denying to load the tomcat feature and thus missing buttons, preferencens and all the stuff. I am looking now why signing breaks the manifests.
Update site released with unsigned jars for the moment.
