#43 Plugin does not work with website which redirects to https

I first test my website running with the Tomcat plugin at http://localhost:8080/. It properly brings up Tomcat Mgr. When I click my application, listed in Tomcat Mgr, it redirects to https. This occurs properly when Tomcat is run from the command line. But when run from the Tomcat plugin, it fails. I enter:

http://localhost:8080/dsos

and it redirects to:

https://localhost:8443/dsos/access/front

and fails with this error:

"PKIX path building failed" and "unable to find valid certification path to requested target"

I would appreciate any clue as to why this does not work with the Tomcat plugin.
