Email attachments containing voice messages are
completely garbled. I'm running JDK 1.4.1 on windows
with the latest JMF. Any idea what might cause this?

This is usually due to some data being lost between your PC
and the modem when recording audio. Alas the audio format
being used by some modems is GSM which basically causes the
entire audio stream to become useless if even one bit of
data is incorrect or lost.
