Hello, It is possible to use Tochnog and Gid together. The old versions of tochno= g have scripts of interfacing with Gid. I use the version July=5F23=5F2000= , it is possible to apply materials on volume, forces and displacements on= points of geometry. It is necessary to divide lines of geometry to get se= veral points. This division permits to distribute conditions correctly on the mesh. I study the concrete problems of resistance of beam materials, of bar ( an= other sofware ), of solid, of ockle (not possible with tochnog). Geometries that I study, are for me too difficult to define directly in to= chnog. I join an example of calculation that I achieved presented in the file beam4.zip. The convergence has not been measured and constraints of Von Mi= ses are not verified, this is an example for begineer. File pdf has been = achieved with gostscript and redmon. Because there's a limit of 40 KB in this mailing list, i send three mail a= fter this one for the file beam4.zip.
