It is better to consider the ttk::label and ::label commands separately 
and not simply overwrite the classic Tk commands.  You may well find 
that more advanced applications have use for both.

Don't bother with setTheme - the default theme on OS X is the native 
one.  Check out the screenshots at the link above to see it.
