Regarding Treeitem.indicator et al, it is already the case that
they are defined (sometimes) outside of the treeview file.
The native WinXP and MacOSX themes define the indicator
(obviously or you wouldn't see them draw natively on those
platforms).

The "alt" them also defines Treeitem.indicator. It is merely a
matter of defining these elements in the other X11-ish styles
as well. Probably the "default" theme is the best place so they
are inherited by any style which doesn't define them.
