You will have to go over the tcl-core archives to get the full details, but I basically stepped into a heated discussion to note that we were too close to beta (feature freeze) to move forward with an as-yet-untested OO framework. It is an unfortunate decision to lose oo across the board, but it does hit Tk especially hard. Tk could really leverage oo for a megawidget framework. Snit provide 90% of the necessary bits, but that remaining 10% is important, and really requires some better core support for "objects". Jeff |
