[Tile-dev] creating mega-entry (search) widgets?

Has anyone managed to create a mega-entry widget that puts additional 
items into the entry widget itself?  Examples are the ever-present OS X 
search entry, and the Firefox address-bar icon+url widget.  Note the OS 
X search widget is also rounded on the sides.
