The VuMan installer breaks this - it removes the symlink and creates a new /usr/local hierarchy containing html2ps. Irrespective of whether it makes sense to have this directory layout (I happen to think it does, for various reasons) the installer should just follow the symlink if it exists rather than silently removing it.
