Thanks for the prompt reply.

At work, we are using a customised version of "wish" program to display
the differences for tkdiff.=20
And according to our system administrators, the wish program need to
work with Tcl/Tk8.4 package,
I am not sure how to check whether the slow response is due to these
changes.=20

The way I did the comparison is setting the preferences for both tkdiff
3.09 and tkdiff 4.1 to be the
same (of course v4.1 is having added comparison features), and I clearly
experience v4.1 is slower
than v3.09.
