When I try to use the tree button to views the revision log and branches for a file it comes up as a long list of text. It looks like a long list of revisions and branches but it is really useless and also lacks all of the other featues like merging. The window that it launches in also says 'TkCVS Warning!' at the top and has a button at the bottom that says 'dismiss.'
It has worked correctly on this machine before. I can't think of anything that we changed.
Please help. Command line CVS is too irritating to consider. :-)
We are running:
tkcvs version 7.0.3
Linux
Tcl 8.3
THANKS IN ADVANCE !!

You will have to resort to the command line to help debug the problem. Fortunately, that isn't too hard. Turn on tracing under Options -> Tracing On/Off, and make sure Trace Level C (CVS commands) is selected. Then do the thing you're having the problem with. (Probably want to leave T and D off, they're too verbose.) The CVS command that tkcvs tried to execute will be printed in purple in the trace window. Then paste that command line into a shell in the same directory and see what happens. I suspect you will see the same text that's appearing in the error window you're seeing. If you capture that text and post it, or mail it to me, maybe we can figure out what's going on :-)

I sent the results from following your instructions directly to you. It contained some details of my work that probably shouldn't be up in a public forum. If we figure this out I will be happy to post the solution to help anyone who might be having this problem in the future.
