I am pleased to announce the third beta release of Walnut, a python library=
=20
for talking to Tinytag data loggers.

Changes in this release include:

1. Changed the autodetection function to perform other tasks necessary for
application-level uses of this library: checking protocol version errors,=20
checking for loggers that failed their self-test, and turnng on some=20
performance enhancements if we can detect a digital basestation.

2. Many of the *_command_implemented methods on the MiniDecode class are=20
removed, in line with current logger specifications. Anyone using these=20
methods please shout, and I can suggest a better alternative.

3. Added a tiny_protocol_version method as an alias for=20
host_software_requirement. That old method name has been misleading for a=20
long time. The old name will not be removed for a long time yet.

4. Turned off some debugging output by default.

No critical bugs are fixed in this release, but anyone using an older versi=
on=20
should upgrade soon. Point 1 above will help you avoid problems in the=20
future.
