[Tikiwiki-artwork] difficulty with folders who dissapeard

Hello all,

I got my web site updated with the latest version.

I'm looking for a folder which contained a logo of my web site that was
located before at this url:

I can no longer find it.

Any one knows what happened since this directory re-structuration ?

gary: yes, we dont want to say it is a difficult puzzle to solve :) how about finding a phrase that suggests it is about "putting pieces together" so that you have a soluion for your use case
torsten: "content management" is good, framework I am not sure, a bit too tekkie. Platform might be a bit less tekkie. How about "solution"? Or is it too "empty"?

what do you think about the "free.opensource.website.platform"? I like the dots, it might be appealing to tekkies but also suggest a web address kindof thing for non-tekkies
we keep working on this a bit more, lets see what comes out of it

I'm not sure if you mean the problem is at various static screen sizes, 
or during movement from one size to another.

If you mean the first thing, to accommodate the navbar height increases 
at the display-width breakpoints, then the page-top margin can be set 
for each display width.

(Note that the code on this page is for when Less is used to compile the 
style sheet. To use the statements directly in CSS, replace the 
variables with the pixel values defined for the breakpoints in the theme 
stylesheet that you're using.)

This seems like it'd work ok for large and medium-sized displays, but 
you might want to use another solution for small devices. It probably 
isn't good to have a multiple-wrapping navbar in a screen that's small 
to begin with. Not much room would be left for content. Here maybbe it 
would be good to hide some modules with Bootstrap div visible/hidden 
classes, etc.

If the problem is that the navbar wrapping and the page adjustment under 
it don't seem to be in sync as you narrow and widen the browser window, 
I think the main thing to check is how the page loads in a window that 
isn't being resized. Most people don't slide their pages narrow and wide 
to see what problems they can expose. I'd say just check the site at the 
various breakpoints/screen sizes. After all, the point is to have a good 
view for visitors using various sized displays (which are static size 
except for the portrait/landscape rotation). Firefox (the developer 
edition) has a menu item for this, to make the browser window the 
various display sizes.

When I use a fixed navbar, the navbar goes over the header, instead of
staying on top, meaning that I have to put a margin-top to either the
body or the header.

When I change the viewport, respectively shrink the screen, likely the
height of the navbar changes before the viewport, where it finally
collapses. For one specific Website I could figure out the actual width,
when the navbar changes to two lines depending on the amount of content
(li elements and width of those). Then I could alter the behaviour of
the specific fixed-navbar in context with media queries.

I find this an odd solution and am looking for something that gives the
fixed-navbar the space it needs instead of "stealing" space from the
next element (likely the header, when I use the fixed-navbar as a
metanavigation or so).

Any ideas for that?

Hi,

There's some interesting info/opinions here about current web design, 
etc.:

We don't need to push any particular design/art ideas, just be enablers 
for people to do what they want in terms of design and art. But probably 
it'll be good for us to demonstrate the flexibility of Tiki in this 
area. For example, although we use the Bootstrap framework, we do go 
beyond that and have all the site configuration possibilities. It'd be 
interesting to have a gallery/page showing screenshots of how even just 
one theme (style sheet) at a Tiki site can have many different looks in 
terms of layout, etc.

But I think we need to improve visual responsiveness before pushing that 
point much.

I think, we need to have some default styling, that is a bit eye candy,
even if not 100% necessary.
If we have only text there, the information seems less structured, in my
personal feeling it would look a bit like a "text-desert" and the badge
style elps the eye to focus either on text or on numbers.

These directories were added when all the themes got the 
"self-contained" reorganization, I guess (moving tpl files to the themes 
directory, making the icon and font directories, and so on). So just an 
automatic addition, and can be deleted.

Hi,

OK. I have revised homepage content and content layout ready, on my 
localhost branch 14, that I think is consistent with the design and the 
idea of a more open and inviting front page, along with some new inside 
pages on themes and Less and so on. As soon as the site is upgraded, 
I'll copy these pages to the site. This update is a kind of new 
beginning for themes.t.o, and I hope the site's pages will be 
informative and nicely designed and not too heavy and overwhelming, etc. 
I plan to be putting time into it with that in mind.

Hi Gary and all,

I think if the secondary top_bar zone menu "stick on top fixed below the 
collapsed top" is a problem to achieve, we could place the secondary 
menu as part of the fixed top, just not to hide the bottom part height, 
where the secondary menu would sit so it is always accessible when user 
scrolled down on page and not covered by the revealed "primary menu".

But I did not play with fixing the secondary menu in topbar zone yet so 
it is possible it could be doable too.

I hope as soon as we have the themes.t.o updated we can play with it 
more and polish that.
