https://tiki.org/Branding+and+Marketing+Creative+Brief+2016 Great article!!! Some more Tagline ideas... *Plays well together (hinting at all the built in integration) **Plays well with others (hinting at MS servers, mysql, ...) *It just works *The integration is already done for you. Here's why I'm using Tiki. (I created my first website in 1995 using Notepad.) I, as a webmaster, don't have to struggle to have a modern website. Yes, Tiki does it. *Tiki has all the latest webmaster trends. **Just look at a few webmaster articles and you realize Yes, Tiki does it. ***Just grabbed a couple off a google search, if you want to take a look... *** https://www.smashingmagazine.com/web-design-essentials-examples-and-best-practices/ ***https://www.orbitmedia.com/blog/web-design-standards/ Webmaster Key & Trendy words - Yes, Tiki has them. *mobile-friendly using responsive web design. *the social web *rapid and agile development **create a "basic" website in a just few hours. ***that has tons of features!!! *wiki, blogs, forums *geolocation *YouTube *Yet, older Internet technology still available **newsletters, rss, SEO, graphical admin ui, ... Yes, Tiki does it. And an oldie but a goodie... DYNAMIC web sties. *Trackers are so amazing. **Create web integrated databases without having to code with SQL. ***but if you are a php/MySQL guru, you can integrate your code with an already rock solid web platform. and it kind of ties in with my next point. Create great web sites without knowing a bit of HTML. *but if you are a HTML/CSS guru, you can do that too... I think it's good to promote the technologies Tiki is built on. *Bootstrap, jQuery, etc. I've tinkered with a few of the other platforms out there. *WordPress navigation is horrid. **Integrating advanced features sometimes works, sometimes doesn't. *Joomla and XOOPS upgrading is horrid. **if you have used any add-ons. *Wikimedia - I spent all day setting it up and went to bed. **There were hundreds of spam pages on there when I woke up. ***Their reply - Well you need to get a community going to keep the spam in check. *Ruby on Rails - Maybe I was ahead of the curve, but building a site from scratch was a major waste of time. The server load was horrid. *Miva had their own program that was fairly easy to tie into MySQL dbs. But, you had to create the entire website from scratch, starting with registration and login if you needed that... *Hand coding using SSI, handwritten javaScript and such. I remember scoffing when they were trying to bring out CSS! **haha that's so 1995ish! lol *I don't remember what it was called, but in the 80's I had word processor on my Atari 800 computer that allowed hyperlinks to create ebooks with interlinked pages. Copy it to a floppy disk and mail it. haha I don't think this generation would go for that!!! Anyways, I'm hooked on Tiki! *and hopefully the direction we are headed with branding and marketing hooks a lot more. **hopefully with a bigger and better skill set than I have... Again, hats off and a big THANX to all coders, documenters and anyone who has helped create Tiki. WizarDave |
