Hi all: One of the first level goals during the next TikiFest in Barcelona (August 20-26th, 2012 ) will be to ease the task of resource (or project) management in Tiki in a visual way by means of Trackers and Calendars. A basic proof-of-concept (not much visual management but working at least) is the display of Tracker Data in a mini-calendar, as seen already in http://tiki.org/TikiFestBarcelona3#Schedule However, we need some easier way to manage data, move tasks from one day to another (all those of you who have been in a TikiFest know how this works, don't you ;-): there is lots of re-scheduling, and re-scheduling over and over again during the week. This resembles very well real uses cases for project mangement, or resource bookings, etc. I have recently identified a potential "low-hanging-fruit" tiki-compatible app that might help managing resources (or subtasks in project management) in a calendar view and friendly drag-and-drop way: *fullcalendar-resourceviews* This is a parallel development to FullCalendar lib (yes, the same one we already have in Tiki, MIT licensed, etc) in which a view for resource management is added. See: http://tux.fi/~jarnok/fullcalendar-resourceviews/ Where it says "Resource1, Resource 2, etc", you can see also "Project 1, Project 2...", and add events as subtasks related to that project. And the idea is to use Tracker data for the resource events, or tasks, etc. *Does any one know any better approach than working in the direction to integrate fullcalendar-resourceviews in Tiki, to allow resource and project management ?* Thanks!
