Hi, In the spirit of do-ocracy, I committed to trunk (r42008) a modified FiveAlive that implements at least some of the ideas of Torsten and gezza and others, as discussed before. Please feel free to further shape the theme as you like. This was also an exercise to see how a second, hyphenated theme stylesheet could share the options of the original theme. It complicates the development quite a bit since counterbalancing changes are needed in the theme option stylesheets and the original stylesheet to make sure effects show up appropriately (mostly by adding parents to selectors to increase their CSS specificity as needed to make the desired style prevail). I think it's nice to leverage the theme options this way, but I guess if it becomes too difficult to maintain the extended family, so to speak, the new theme could have its own set of option stylesheets (though it'd be good to avoid this kind of near-redundancy). To avoid over-specifying the style at the outset, I didn't rigorously put everything in fivealive.css into fivealive-lite.css (the file is about 25% smaller) so some needed rules may be missing. These should be added if anyone comes across such a case. -- Gary |
