Hi all, I wanted to do this on Friday when I was in Montreal, but didn't have time. As it is a part of the welcome screen I wanted to check with you first. It's about the wording at tiki_index.php, line 77. I would change it from: To begin configuring your site: {FANCYLIST()} 1) Log in as the __admin__ with password __admin__. 2) Change the admin password. 3) Enable specific Tiki features. 4) Configure the features. {FANCYLIST} to something like: To begin configuring your site: {FANCYLIST()} 1) Log in as the __admin__ with password __admin__. 2) Change the admin password. 3) Enable specific Tiki features (go to Admin->Admin Home->Features). 4) Configure the features. {FANCYLIST} Or you can make it a link to point to the actual script, although I think it's more informative to the user to guide him through the menu instead of bringing him directly to that screen. For all of you who know TikiWiki in depth the wording might be clear. For a newbie, he's going to search for a word "Feature" on the page and will not be able to find it anywhere on that page. Another thing that happens with both trunk and 3.0 on my machine: tiki-install.php, after giving it the db credentials, seems to timeout and goes blank sometimes. If I reload the page it usually works and gives me the message that it successfully connected to the db. My machine is very slow, and apache error log indicates (although not always, so I'm not sure if timeout is the only reason) something like: "Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded". Thanks, Marta |
