I went back and looked at my permissions, and I noticed a couple things. Firstly, that I didn't have Group A set up as a subgroup of Registered. I had done that originally, but then decided not to set things up that way. What I discovered is that it seems that I need to enable the permissions of everything I need in the Registered group first. For example, if I want Group A to be able to browse all wiki pages, but only able to edit some of them, I need to enable view_wiki and edit_wiki permisions for the Registered group. Then I can go to the individual pages and set the view and edit permissions for each group. If I don't set the permissions in the Registered group, nothing works. Not sure why that is.
