Hi Tiki-Devels In anticipation of a summer of Tiki fun (hopefully) i decided to try again to get a proper PHP debugger working on my dev machine (an Intel Mac). After a couple of days of fraught configuring and compiling i now have it just about working and wanted to share how i managed it with everyone - not just for Mac users as all of this is Open Source and cross-platform. I seem to remember i contributed to a page on something.tw.o ages ago but... ah, got it! http://doc.tikiwiki.org/Mac+Tools (updated) The basic ingredients are Eclipse, Subclipse, PDT, smartypdt & xdebug I've made a start at writing up how i've set it up but i think the page shouldn't be on doc.tw.o so as not to scare the grown-ups - but where should it go? dev.tw.o somewhere seems most likely... For now it's here: http://doc.tikiwiki.org/Developing+TikiWiki+with+Eclipse+on+a+Mac But now, for some actual debugging! I'm hoping to get the editor switching thing working over the next few days - my current fix isn't good enough. More soon... jonny -- Documentation is like sex: when it is good, it is very, very good and when it is bad... it is better than nothing. Dick Brandon - coolsig.com |
