If you included PEAR with the code already modified to
run locally, it would seem to me that you could easily
throw together a web based install (similar to postnuke)
that would take all the dirty work out of the end users
life. Besides, a couple extra megabytes never hurt
anybody.
Also, if you're a user who doesn't have root access, it
makes it rather difficult when the 3 files that the
setup.sh file changes permissions on are all set to
user/grp apache. You can't even delete them at that
point once they are created (extracted from the archive).
