Unfortunately, I was mildly horrified to see that my tikrc was trounced after hitting OK after using the preferences menu item. This simple unified diff against 0.89 adds another file that is sourced at the end of tikrc by having the writerc routine write out one more line at the end of tikrc which simply sources $env(HOME)/.tik/tikrc.local within a catch.

We've already done something similar to this in the current CVS. If you don't have CVS access, you can find a tarball of the latest CVS code at http://keylargo.sourceforge.net/tik/

The idea of a single sourced file is more appealing to me then our three seperate files, but this patch doesn't solve the problem of preferences overwriting tikpre or awayrc.

We've been playing with different ideas for a replacement to prefs.tcl to resolve a lot of these issues. Hopefully we'll have something to see soon.
