Hi, Here is my idea how to navigate in 3Dsia with Mouse in keyboard: There are two modes: Navigate mode: You move around with your cursor keys and look around with your mouse. Example configuration in _navigate_ mode: You see no mousecurser. (Mouse1 is Mousebutton 1 etc) up - Move forward in the direction you are moving. down - Move backward ... left - Turn left right - Turn right delete - Strafe left pagedown - Strafe right Keys a-z and return - Text that you type will be transmitted if you press return. It will show up either in a HUD, in a display object you have build for that or float over the heads of the people. Mouse1 - Show information about an object in front of me in a Head Up Display (HUD) or whatever i defined as my information-display. Will only show "Minimal Information Profile" (MIP) about personae(avatars) and objects. People are not notified that they are inspected. MIP : Something like the nickname of that persona and maybe it's email. Or nothing. What the person likes to show. This is communication is not encrypted. mouse2 - Manipulate/get object in front of you (if get is possible it will bring you in interactive mode with the object hovering in front of you) Mouse3 - Interact mode alt-space - Interact mode Example configuration in _interactive_ mode: You see the mousecurser (or a hand etc.). If you not have an object in your "hand": up - Move forward in the direction you are moving. down - Move backward ... left - Turn left right - Turn right delete - Strafe left paged. - Strafe right Keys a-z and return - Text that you type will be transmitted if you press return. It will show up either in a HUD, in a display object you have build for that or float over the heads of the people. Mouse1 - a click on one of your defined objects will start a script or will bring you to your local storage or will start a macro etc. A click on a person are other object (touch) will show data of MIP and CIP (Critical Information Profile). This is something like the PGP-Key of that person a photo etc. This is also defined my the user. The only thing that is given away is the IP if the user has no information stored in his CIP. CIP is transmitted encrypted. The user will be notified that he or one of his objects has been examined! Objects can have owner information in it. If the creator of that object likes he can make it notify him or her if it is "touched" be a user. Mouse2 - a click with that button will bring up an object specific menu of further actions: Send object to ..., Talk securely to ... etc. Mouse3 - Navigate mode alt-space - Navigate mode If you HAVE an object in your "hand": up - Turn object around in +y axis down - Turn object around in -y axis left - Turn object left right - Turn object right pagedown - Zoom in pageup - Zoom out Mouse1 - Drag object on your pocket (or whatever represents your quickstorage) will put the object in your quickstore. Drag object on another person will copy that object and will give the copy to that person (if the object is copyable!) Of course the ohter person could reject that. Drag object on the floor of the matrix or in free space will drop the object away. Mouse2 - a click with that button will bring up an object specific menu of further actions: Delete, Rename, Edit etc. Of coures you could also delete an object my dragging it to a dustbin somewhere on your screen but who wants to carry around a dustbin all the time? Mouse3 - Navigate mode alt-space - Navigate mode -- "One dead is a tragedy, thousand deads are a statistic." Karl Marx e-mail: chr...@ab...
