Ok! I'll se on that tonight. In the meantime - can somebody help me making that bootdisc for the = image? Regards A. Lyse ----- Original Message -----=20 From: Miles Roper=20 To: 'A. Can you please instruct me a bit more on this issue :) (Im very = thankfull for the info) Let me se if I got this right: I can store the IP, gateway aso on the local HDD (or network) using = the storage option in the conf file. Jupp I've read the FAQ as that is said :) Im working on a BIG rollout of metaframe clients = for the Oslo region in Norway. We were using the regular citrix clients = on on DOS background. The bad things about this was 1. Bad colors 2. no = support for individual settings 3. bad install rutine. The case is: We want to try the thinstation = client and go the linux way, but we got some questions about a very = important issue, and that is DHCP. On some locations there are what we = call "secure" local networks. Altso a crypto box securing the net. We = CANT get DHCP settings without a valid IP adress already defined on the = box. The thing we want are a addon or possibile to make this staging: 1. We put a floppy in the floppystation 2. The floppy boots, and ask 1. Use a DHCP 2. = Use a static IP When you press 1 it boots with networkboot When you press 2 you can push the IP and = gateway. The floppy then register the computer on the net = as a user (regular network boot) and map a network drive where it = download the boot images and other required files. Then the software get installed, and I can = define the IP and gateway manualy for further use, but still the client = get rest of the settings from the server. Can this be done? I think MANY would like to se = this, and I would! Please help me out here! Im realy stuck here!
