Hi Don, a quick word of thanks for all your help in getting our installation of TS working. It was particularly challenging due to a bug in the HP BIOS however all good now. Till next time ! Whilst I am happy with this as it works well out of interest where is the config I could have changed to make it tftp instead of http? For the benefit of anyone else reading this, the video shows the configuration in pfSense and it appears there are four settings for PXE boot that are configured. 1) Next Server 2) Default BIOS file name 3) UEFI 32 bit file name 4) UEFI 63 bit file name We are using Windows Server 2008R2 for the DHCP so the settings are slightly different to pfSense DHCP. My understanding is: Number 1 in the list above equates to DHCP option 66 Numbers 2, 3 & 4 are all variations of DHCP option 67 #2 is used for legacy PXE booting "/boot/lpexlinux/lpxelinux.0" #3 is used for 32 bit UEFI PXE booting "/boot/efi32/syslinux.efi" #4 is used for 64 bit UEFI PXE booting "/boot/efi64/bootx64.efi" Unlike pfSense Windows DHCP appears to only allow a singe value for option 67 and as we are using UEFI with 64 bit machines we can set it accordingly. I am not sure how/if this could be managed in a mixed legacy/UEFI/32bit/64bit environment. I will be testing this tomorrow and hopefully we will get to boot using PXE UEFI... I note my standard Thinstation images will not work with UEFI via PXE or an ISO burnt to disk. I understand that to make UEFI boot work I need 3 things: 1) pick an efi boot loader. 2) add systemd-boot after refind in build.conf 3) dhcp server needs to point efi clients to the efi bootloader I am lost on items (1) and (3). Item (2) was simple to achieve. Can anyone point me in the right direction with (1) and (3) please, I am unsure of where to start. _______________________________________________ Thinstation-general mailing list Thi...@li...<mailto:Thi...@li...> https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/thinstation-general _______________________________________________ Thinstation-general mailing list Thi...@li...<mailto:Thi...@li...> https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/thinstation-general _______________________________________________ Thinstation-general mailing list Thi...@li...<mailto:Thi...@li...> https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/thinstation-general _______________________________________________ Thinstation-general mailing list Thi...@li...<mailto:Thi...@li...> https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/thinstation-general _______________________________________________ Thinstation-general mailing list Thi...@li...<mailto:Thi...@li...> https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/thinstation-general |
