Christoph, The only thing I can think of, is that you don't have enough memory assigned to the VM. I tested your build.conf over here with virtualbox 4.3.10, and it booted up all the way to X. Maybe someone is able to give me a hint? I have a working 6.0_Unstable installation but need to use 5.2_Stable for some reasons.
