I would also note, that the key difference between 5.1 and 6.0 with regards to the gma3650 is that in 6.0, we are given access to the connector information, so when we run xrandr, we can see what the kernel thinks about available ports and displays. We so often have to disable one, that this info really comes in handy. For instance when I boot, I see that the kernel thinks I have a laptop display connected to LVDS-0 and that it has a res of 1024x768. It also sees that I have a 27 with resolutions up to 1920x1080 available on VGA-0. Since the kernel defaults to mirror mode, my only real display comes up at 1024x768. I can disable the LVDS-0 connector by appending video=LVDS-1:d to my kernel command line. Yes, I had to change the 0 to a 1. Now the pc only see's my 27 and correctly sets everything up at 1920x1080.
