And also for reference, we should seriously consider rewriting all replimenu based functions in xdialog, then we could simply use dialog in non x based startup with the same code. But I don't have time for that right now. Anybody else game? ________________________________ From: Don Cupp <don...@ya...> To: "thi...@li..." <thi...@li...> Sent: Wednesday, November 9, 2011 5:56 PM Subject: Re: [Thinstation-developer] Replimenu Ah well, I found the current bug that got me all up in a tizzie without having to remove replimenu. Moving on. ________________________________ From: Tobias Paepke <tob...@pa...> To: thi...@li... A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away, i used replimenu to have text-based sessions on keyboard only computers. mostly accessing a ibm iseries aka as/400 via the tn5250 tool. its by the way an easy select tool for sessions. text based is normally ultra-fast and works on EVERY hardware. anyway. i'm currently not using it anymore, but i'm sure there are still some guys around with tn5250 access needs and don't like to get into trouble with X. I didn't noticed that replimenu segfaults. We need to be concentrating on faster boots, not smaller. Small should almost be a non factor as 2.5 only runs on 686+ hardware which I haven't seen with less than 128mb or ram, which is enough for any X bassed sessions. i'd like to see at least a small version of ts2.5 on 64-76MB ram. even its just rdesktop... We can't sustain the legacy of this distro forever(with are limited number of developers), sometimes you have to let things go that are getting in the way. ack. there are pro's and cons. sometimes its better to get rid of something and implement it later again in a different way, if someone really needs it. could be a way for replimenu. > > > >From: Mike Eriksen <thi...@gm...> >To: Don Cupp <don...@ya...> >Sent: Wednesday, November 9, 2011 1:45 PM >Subject: Re: [Thinstation-developer] Replimenu > >On Wed, Nov 9, 2011 at 10:29 PM, Don Cupp <don...@ya...> wrote: >> I am pretty sure we don't need this anymore, so I am going to delete all the >> code related to this ancient app that segfaults from time to time.
