Hello, just a little question about hardware setup for thinstations. We want to implement our own designed Thinstations for the next 1-2 years, if possible. At the moment we use several Thinclients from Neoware and some other Brands, but they have all some serious problems, if they run for 7x24 hours worktime. Nearly 50% of all Powersupplys will fail in the first 2 years. We are an Industrial Steel Mill and need, for our 7x24 workinghours, a working thinclient 8-). For now we are researching, if we can build our own Thinclients with some standard "mini-itx" cases (with a real good power supply) and a "long term available" motherboard ( VIA or ATOM based). So we don´t have to redevelop every 6 month a new kernel/driver and so on. I would like to know, what Hardware Specs you use to reacht the same goal. Some embedded VIA Board / Atom Board. What would you suggest We just use the Thinstation to boot to a Blackbox Session with 2-3 Rdesktop Sessions. We need a DVI Port ,Screen-Resolutions Up to 1680,USB Ports, PXE boot and so on. No special Things. Thanks for all your feedback bye Roman P.S. Excuse my english spelling please 8-). |
