it doesn't really detect hardware before thinstation.init. all modules are loaded as part of the thinstation.init. udev is called and filesystems get mounted, again part of thinstation.init. note I'm talking about thinstation 2.2, mostly same in 2.1 (no udev though). the base/etc/init.d/mdetect script detects mouse (although its not perfect, especially when it comes to usb mice). x-common/etc/init.d/x.init script detects video hardware/xorg Srivathsan_Srinivasagopalan wrote: > Hi, > > I am trying to understand the boot sequence of Thinstation, > particularly how it detects the various hardware and initializes them > (before it hits thinstation.init).
