Short back story: Microsoft Network Load Balancing between a farm of Microsoft Terminal Servers is a nightmare. The way the traffic works (virtual shared IPs) kills some routing switches. The forward story: Can anybody think of a way to make Thinstation pick an IP address from a pool to rdesktop to? Example: Four Windows terminal servers. IPs: 10.1.1.1 10.1.1.2 10.1.1.3 10.1.1.4 Could we make a Thinstation client automatically, randomly choose one of these IPs? And if it fails to connect (or correctly disconnects) automatically try ANOTHER IP? The why: Load balancing, without the actual Microsoft part. I can develop this, but if anybody has an easy rough idea it'd help.
