The action I performed that seems to have led to the crash was inputting a time interval labeled with both a category and a container. The interval spanned from -550 to -330 (550 BC to 330 BC). Upon clicking "OK" to create the time period on the chart, the program crashed; citing "Can't zoom wider than 1200 years" as the error. Which seems to be a very random error considering I wasn't trying zoom out. Now I seem to have permanently lost access to anything in the timeline since the file won't reopen without the error.
Looking around, I didn't seem to find an "undo" button or option anywhere. And ctrl+z only seems to delete the current selection rather than undo anything. Perhaps an "undo" would help to reverse the problem caused by the action that led to the crash? If nothing else, it would just be a convenient addition.

Same type of crash occurs if you add two events to the same container, where each event spans less then 1200 years but the container spans more than 1200 yers. When trying to close Timeline the crash occurs
Solved by not asserting time period length for container events
