I find out that viewing source file on the other side of our working tex file is very helpful for writing large document. I do hope that texstudio will accompany with the "Source Viewer" feature for the future version. And I think that some other tex users and programmers need this feature as their assistant as well. In the attachment is the feature in texmaker.

I don't understand the exact point of a dedicated "Source Viewer". Is it only to have two documents side-by-side? If so, wouldn't be a full second editor panel more useful?
I sometimes open up old files to copy part of them (e.g. a title page), but I don’t want to change anything in these old files. A read-only mode would make me less worried about accidentally changing something.
Here’s an idea: The first part would be to put a checkbox (or a second button) in the open file dialog “Open in read-only mode”; the second would be an option to display two source files next to each other (no matter if read only or not).
